Mike O'Leary helped his team muscle past the LSU Tigers, 5-4. In the game, the Tulane third baseman went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Reliever Mike Calvin picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Nate Gaspard took the loss. Brad Dunbar picked up the save for Tulane, his 6th of the year.
Matt Williams had a big at-bat in the bottom of the third inning for the Green Wave. With his team down, 2-1, the designated hitter hit a 2-run double, to put Tulane ahead.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said O'Leary.
At 10-21, the Green Wave find themselves in last place in the Cliff Gustafson.
