Driver, Buckeyes Fall to Cavaliers
The Virginia Cavaliers took on the Ohio State Buckeyes at Ballpark of Redwood College.

The Virginia Cavaliers overcame a good performance by Ohio State left fielder Justin Driver to knock off Ohio State, 9-7, at Ballpark of Redwood College. Driver was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Victor Reyes was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed no runs on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Tom Matney sewed up the save, his 1st.

Virginia got a big at-bat from Machesney Park, Illinois native Kyle Wendt, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a grand slam home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Cavaliers ahead, 8-0.

Wendt called the triumph "a good team win."

Virginia now sits at 14-16, while Ohio State falls to 19-11.
