Demon Deacans Get Clutch Win Versus Kansas
The Wake Forest Demon Deacans faced a tough opponent in Kansas pitcher John Vance, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Cypress Quarters College Grounds by a final score of 6-5. Vance went 5.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Reliever Aaron Lewis picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Steve Cherry took the loss. The Demon Deacans saw their record improve to 11-19.

Wake Forest took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Jeremy Neal hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Demon Deacans in front, 6-4.

"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Neal.
