Bears Win with Late Heroics
The Baylor Bears knocked off the Washington State Cougars, 10-9, at Wolverines Stadium. It took 12 innings. Jason Roe was a prime reason Baylor won. The second baseman was 1 for 4 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. The winner was Baylor reliever Bill Wolfe, now 2-0. The loser was Roger Abbott. The win gives Baylor a season record of 16-13.

The decisive at-bat for Baylor came with two out in the bottom of the 12th. With the bases loaded, Roe drew a walk, driving in 1 run for the walk-off win.
