Chabot, Sooners Fall to Demon Deacans
|
The Wake Forest Demon Deacans overcame a good performance by Oklahoma third baseman Matt Chabot to knock off Oklahoma, 13-12, at Biglerville College Fields. Chabot went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 4 and driving in 3. Wake Forest reliever Scott Hottinger was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Taylor Tapp took the loss. Caleb Steinberg got credit for the save for Wake Forest. It was his 3rd of the year.
Sam Dyess came through with a big-time hit for Wake Forest. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 13-12. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"This game had a little bit of everything," said Dyess.
Wake Forest, with the win, is 10-19.
