|
Despite a great performance by Iowa State second baseman Jordan Bailey, the Florida State Seminoles defeated the Cyclones by the score of 11-7 at Forney College Grounds. Bailey was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The save went to Nazir Mayo, his 5th this season. Florida State goes to 12-17, Iowa State to 10-19.
In the top of the first, first baseman Sean Willey hit a bases-clearing double to right-center. The double, which was hit off of Jesse Gosser, gave Florida State a 3-0 lead.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Willey.
