The Surrey Thunderbirds beat the Kingston Beats, 4-3, in 11 innings at Surrey Field. Surrey shortstop Miguel Gonzalez had an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Sergio Arrache, now 2-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Surrey, at 31-17, sits in second place in the RCL LA West Division.
The Thunderbirds got a clutch hit from right fielder Mario Figueroa. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Thunderbirds.
"This house was rockin'," Figueroa said.
