The 3-RBI night of right fielder Josh Crawford, who is tied for 9th in the SBL in RBI with 37, helped the South Illinois Salukis triumph, 12-6, over the Vanderbilt Commodores. The 9th-place Salukis hiked their record to 16-11.

South Illinois used the hitting of Tim Ison to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Salukis on top, 11-2. For the game, Ison had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We knocked the fire out of the ball," said South Illinois manager Aaron McKenna. "The guys swung the bats pretty good, and that's fun to see."
