Royal Oak Sends Surrey Packing with 8-3 Loss
The Royal Oak Leprechauns stopped the Surrey Thunderbirds, 8-3, behind an impressive performance from Ryan Rickett. The 20-year old left fielder made life miserable for Surrey pitching. He was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Royal Oak is last in the RCL LA West Division with a record of 18-28.

Royal Oak used the timely hitting of Tim McCay to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Leprechauns on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We did the things that it takes to win a game," said Rickett.
