The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets faced a tough opponent in Clemson pitcher Rich Whittle, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Castles Ballpark by a final score of 4-2. Whittle went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Georgia Tech now sits at 12-13, while Clemson falls to 11-14.
With the clubs tied 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh and the bases loaded, left fielder Sean Rudd, who is tied for 2nd in the SBL in bases on balls with 23, drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
After the game, Georgia Tech manager Craig Fletcher applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
