Cyclones Fall Short at Florida
The Florida Gators beat the Iowa State Cyclones, 4-3, at Ballpark of Bismarck College. The Gators got a fine performance from first baseman George Conlee, who captured player of the game honors. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the victory, the Gators record now stands at 15-10.

Making an impact for the home team was Gary Ritscher. In the bottom of the tenth, the 20-year old left fielder had a run-scoring double. That made the score 4-3, Gators.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Iowa State manager Theodore Foster. "But we decided not to take it."
