Bloomington Drops Another One, 15-1
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 22-year old second baseman Dan Wooten, the Toronto Blue Jays stopped the Bloomington Hoosiers, 15-1, in 9 innings. Sean Meloche got the win, improving to 11-0. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 13 and walking 2. Picking up his 1st save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Willie Garcia.
Toronto right fielder Adam Rummer contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 76th hit of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 4-0.
"This team is hotter than heck," said Toronto manager Bryan Fulcher.
The Hoosiers, now 17-26, have lost 10 in a row.
