Steelhounds Grounds played host to some dramatic action.

The Brighton Steelhounds defeated the Surrey Thunderbirds, 5-4, at Steelhounds Grounds. Izzy Rodriguez, who is tied for 8th in the RLA in hits with 50, was a standout performer for Brighton. His 4 hits included 2 singles and 2 doubles -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 1 he knocked in. The win went to Orlando Gomez in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Salvador Reyes took the loss.

Steve Coffin was the walk-off hero for Brighton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Steelhounds third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Rodriguez.

With the win, Brighton raised its record to 28-14.
