Behind the hitting of Marco Orduno, the Springfield Sentries clipped the Aiken Thoroughbreds, 6-4. Orduno went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Sentries. Reliever Manny Becerra picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Alex Charco took the loss. The Sentries, now 17-24, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
Orduno had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch changeup from Taichi Kimura, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Sentries a 6-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Orduno.
"I want us to get on a roll," said Orduno. "It'll happen when everyone's committed to the cause."
