Buckeyes Get Road Win, 8-2
|
A 3-RBI performance from Jonathan Stultz, who is rated as the 75th best prospect by BNN, helped the Ohio State Buckeyes beat the Florida State Seminoles, 8-2. Jim Schultz picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-0. He struck out 5 in 5.1 innings. At 14-10, Ohio State is in 5th place in the Ron Fraser Division.
The result might have been different for Ohio State, had it not been for Tom Watkins, the 21-year old right fielder . Watkins stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Ohio State up, 1-0. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
In comments to the Ohio State Gazette, Watkins admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
