The Tulane Green Wave stopped the Rice Owls, 8-4, at Berthoud College Grounds. The Green Wave got a big game from Eric Bednar, who went 4 for 4 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 times. With the victory, the Green Wave record now stands at 6-17.

There were several reasons the Green Wave beat the Owls, but one factor was Alvaro de la Cruz. In the bottom of the fifth, the Tulane center fielder came to bat and hit a 2-run home run. It staked his team to a 4-2 lead.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said de la Cruz.
