Cardinals Beat Visiting Aggies, 3-0
|
The Cardinals had to overcome a good performance from Texas A&M pitcher Lance Guinta to claim a 3-0 win at Surfers Ballpark. Guinta went 5.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. Pedro Renteria recorded his 7th save for Stanford. Stanford is now 14-9, while Texas A&M is 13-10.
Also pitching in was Stanford designated hitter Tommy Lewis, who hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, Lewis went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Stanford manager Frank Robles. "It's usually not just one thing."
