Razorbacks Prevail, 3-1, Over Ohio State
|
The Razorbacks grabbed a win, 3-1, at Ballpark of Bloomfield College, overcoming a fine effort from Ohio State pitcher Joel Shomo. Shomo went 5.2 innings and allowed no earned runs. Arkansas reliever Josh Garner picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jamie Weber took the loss. Getting the save was John Marshall, his 4th.
In the top of the seventh, Arkansas catcher Chad Westra had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Westra stroked a 2-run double to left. It made the score 3-0, Arkansas. For the game, he went 1-3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Westra.
Arkansas is now 12-11, Ohio State 13-10.
