The Aiken Thoroughbreds topped the Bloomington Hoosiers, 12-6, the lion's share of the credit going to shortstop Jose Solis. On the day, Solis went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 3 for the Thoroughbreds. The third-place Hoosiers have lost 6 straight games.

Aiken used a well-timed hit by Malachi Wichert to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Thoroughbreds ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We gave it the old college try," said Bloomington manager Matthew Buchanan. "But the old college try wasn't good enough."
