Sycamores Pull Even With 7-3 Victory
|
The Sycamores had to overcome a fine performance from Florida pitcher Chris Becker to grab a 7-3 win at Ballpark of Bismarck College. Becker allowed 2 earned runs over 6 innings. The win was credited to Gabe Dickinson in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Joe Lobbins took the loss. The 13th-place Sycamores are now 11-11, the Gators 13-9.
San Diego, California-born Michael Smart came through in the clutch. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Sycamores trailing 3-1, he hit a 3-run home run to left-center to put Indiana State on top.
"It feels good to get this one," Smart told the Indiana State Herald.
