The Brighton Steelhounds picked up a win at Oak Park Stadium, dropping the Oak Park Architects, 8-5. Dave Hernandez, who is tied for 3rd in the RLA in quality starts with 4, was the difference-maker. Hernandez, the winner, moves to 6-0. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. The save was credited to Ricky Villegas, his 8th.

Kennan Lannigan went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk for Brighton. The 19-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Robbie Garza. It was his 43rd hit of the season.

"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Hernandez.
