Cordero Excels in 3-2 Texas Win
|
Texas first baseman Juan Cordero contributed significantly to his team's 3-2 win over the UCLA Bruins. Cordero, who leads the RDL in total bases with 81, went 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Longhorns. Bobby Dawson picked up his 4th save of the season. After today's action, Texas sits at 9-13, while UCLA falls to 8-14.
Cordero had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-2 curveball from Justin O'Dell, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Longhorns a 3-2 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Cordero.
Cordero told reporters after the game: "Runs were scarce, so we had to work hard to get the W."
