Series Lead Cut to 1 for Montreal After 3-0 Loss
|
Already down in the League Pennant, the Eureka Hornets put on their best show, beating the Montreal Mounties by a final score of 3-0. Bobby Loscalzo was special. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Eureka now trails Montreal 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Hornets had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when second baseman Brian Carr hit a solo home run. The home run came off Eddie Galloza and made the score 2-0, Hornets. Carr went 1 for 4 with a home run.
"Bobby did a tremendous job," said Eureka manager Juan Montés.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Nest in Eureka.
