Riding the 4-hit performance of left fielder Chris Elliott, the Montreal Mounties stopped the visiting Eureka Hornets, 13-2, in Game 2 of the League Pennant. Elliott went 4 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 6 for the Mounties, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.

A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the second. That's when Elliott hit a fastball from Harley Lowrie for a 3-run home run, putting Montreal up, 7-0.

Montreal manager Julián Martínez commended his team for "putting the hammer down."
