Ragin Cajuns Topple Golden Eagles, 12-8, as Armer Shines
The Louisiana-Layfayette Ragin Cajuns defeated the South Mississippi Golden Eagles by the score of 12-8, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman C.J. Armer. Armer was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2 for the Ragin Cajuns on the day. Hamilton Hamilton picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Mario Valenzuela suffered the loss. Terry George earned the save, his 5th, for the Ragin Cajuns.

Steve Waller aided the Louisiana-Layfayette cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.

"Nice win for us," said Waller. "Now we'll go after the next one."

The first-place Ragin Cajuns improved to 15-5.
