Taylor Powers Golden Bears to 6-4 Win
|
No one was more impactful than Chris Taylor in the 6-4 California win over Texas A&M. Taylor went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Rick Otten, who threw 78 pitches over 5.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 6 hits. Keith Russo was called on to finish, recording his 6th save.
In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, Taylor came to the plate. He drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Oliver Reynolds to put the Golden Bears in the lead, 2-1.
Taylor described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
