Chris Sweeney and the Hawaii Honu opened the Wild Card Round in brilliant fashion, traveling to Pennsylvania and shutting out the host Butterflies at The Kaleidoscope, 3-0, to secure an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Sweeney, the Honu right-hander, threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball.

The Butterflies had little chance against Sweeney, who overpowered Pennsylvania hitters and struck out 13.

"Chris controlled the strike zone," said Hawaii manager Naoki Okada.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Kaleidoscope in Philadelphia.
