Tar Heels Suffer 9-4 Loss to Buckeyes
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Arthur DeLoach, the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels, 9-4. DeLoach was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Buckeyes. Antonio Bredenberg, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 3 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The Buckeyes, at 13-7, sit in 4th place in the Ron Fraser Division.

Jesse Marsella had a big 3-run home run for the Buckeyes in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Ohio State trailing 4-3 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a cutter from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Jorge Hernandez and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Buckeyes on top, 6-4.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said North Carolina manager Barrett Jackson.
