Tigers Win Again, Streak Now at 10
|
The Missouri Tigers extended their winning streak at Ballpark of Ridge College.
The Missouri Tigers knocked off the Iowa State Cyclones, 4-1, at Ballpark of Ridge College. Jason Holle, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Missouri won. The right fielder went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Ethan Nygaard got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. The save was credited to Mike Steele, his 5th.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Iowa State hurler Josh McGee, Chris Montalbano, who is tied for 10th in the SBL in home runs with 7, hit a 2-run home run. The Tigers went on to win.
Holle told a Missouri News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
The Tigers have now won 10 straight.
