Despite a great performance by Cal State Fullerton designated hitter Ryan Carbonneau, the Fresno State Bulldogs defeated the Titans by the score of 7-6 at Hartford College Grounds. Carbonneau went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Danny Baugh picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Brett Mougin took the loss. Jim Weddle nailed down his 2nd save.

Fresno State won the game in part because of Osvaldo Pimentel. The third baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bulldogs ahead, 6-4. For the game, Pimentel had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Pimentel said.

The defeat makes Cal State Fullerton 9-9.
