Willie Zapien was a vital contributor to the 8-3 Bloomington victory over Rancho. The Hoosiers designated hitter was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Luis Ramirez picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 7 in 7.2 innings. The Cucamonga, now 9-23, have lost 8 straight.
Bloomington first baseman Robert Nunez helped the Hoosiers go up, 4-3, in the top of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Nunez hit a run-scoring single off Rancho pitcher Charlie Graef.
