Virginia Cavaliers starter Josh Tillman turned in an exceptional performance against the Indiana State Sycamores at Ballpark of Redwood College, resulting in a Virginia win, 9-1. Indiana State has now lost 4 straight.

The Cavaliers beat the Sycamores in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out double Bert Hart produced in the bottom of the third. Batting against Indiana State pitcher Kevin Akers, Hart gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run double.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Virginia manager Rémy Coutant.
