Thoroughbreds Win Nail-Biter
The Aiken Thoroughbreds bested the Cuautitlan Izcalli Atlantics by a score of 8-7, in 10 innings. Malachi Wichert deserved much of the credit. On the day, Wichert went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Thoroughbreds. Aiken reliever Alex Charco picked up the win, upping his record to 5-0. Kelvin Zea took the loss. Danny Isley earned the save, his 1st, for the Thoroughbreds.

Aiken took the lead, 7-6, on Tyler Walker's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Walker hit in the top of the tenth, made Cuautitlan Izcalli pitcher Kelvin Zea wince.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Cuautitlan Izcalli manager Javier Medina. "But we decided not to take it."

The Thoroughbreds improved to a lofty 29-4.
