Omar Ruiz powered the River Falls Falcons to a win over the Victory Lakes Crawfish. The final score was 7-6. The River Falls left fielder, who is tied for 6th in the TLA in stolen bases with 3, was phenomenal. He stroked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. With the win, River Falls upped its record to 19-14.
Had Javy Puga not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Puga hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Falcons.
Ruiz told reporters after the game: "This one was touch and go, but we were able to put it in the win column."
