Golden Bears Stun Bruins, 3-1

California beat UCLA on the strength of starter Aaron Bagley's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Jason Franklin picked up the save, his 7th. The Golden Bears, at 9-6, sit in 6th place in the Cliff Gustafson.
Chris Shavers, who is tied for 10th in the RDL with a .714 slugging percentage, contributed to the California win with a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said California manager Robert Sumption. "It's usually not just one thing."
