Ruddock Belts Bunch of Base Hits
A jubilant Brian Ruddock joined the postgame press conference at Exhibition Stadium to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Ft. Worth Werewolves pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Toronto Blue Jays right fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 23-2 Blue Jays win.

"He made it look easy," said Danny Koehl, manager of the Werewolves. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Brian Ruddock singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.

Ruddock is currently hitting at a .310 pace with 3 home runs, 23 RBIs and has scored 28 times.
