Steelhounds Fight for 8-7 Win
The Brighton Steelhounds beat the Martinsburg Maulers, 8-7, at Steelhounds Grounds. Brighton catcher Ricky Contreras led the way. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Danny Pepin got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Early on, the Steelhounds, at 19-8, have put the pedal to the metal.

The decisive blow was delivered by Mike Hale in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Jonathan Pagan to win the game for Brighton. The home crowd went nuts.

"That was a lot of fun, watching both teams compete," said Steelhounds manager Freddie Baseball.
