Cucamonga in Free-Fall, Lose, 10-1
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Rancho Cucamonga and Cuautitlan Izcalli Atlantics get after it.
Cuautitlan Izcalli first baseman Willie Juarez had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Rancho Cucamonga, 10-1. Cuautitlan Izcalli reliever Tony Taylor picked up the win to move to 4-2. Rajko Sujic suffered the loss.
John Romano had a big 2-run double for the Atlantics in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Cuautitlan Izcalli leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a knuckleball from Rajko Sujic and swatted a double to left. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Atlantics ahead, 3-0.
Cuautitlan Izcalli manager Javier Medina commended his team for "putting the hammer down."
The Cucamonga, now 6-20, continue their sluggish start.
