Thunderbirds Roll to 8-2 Win Over Leprechauns
|
Behind a solid performance from left fielder David Barreto, the Surrey Thunderbirds defeated the Royal Oak Leprechauns, 8-2. Barreto went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times for the Thunderbirds. For the Leprechauns, the loss makes them 10-15.
In the top of the third, Alex Oliva delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Surrey designated hitter hit a 2-run single, putting the Thunderbirds in front, 8-2.
"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Barreto after the game.
