Sycamores Get 7-5 Win Versus Vanderbilt
|
The Indiana State Sycamores bested the Vanderbilt Commodores, 7-5, at Pit Vipers Ballpark. Randy Williams was one of the standouts. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Christian Nichols picked up the save, his 2nd. Indiana State, with the win, climbs to 4-9.
Mike Turnquist, who is tied for 10th in the SBL in doubles with 4, helped out the Indiana State cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the second baseman drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Turnquist told the Indiana State Gazette. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
