The skies opened up and the rain fell at Hartford College Grounds.
Cal State Fullerton pitcher Chris Standridge gave the Ducks all they could handle, but in the end, Oregon left Hartford College Grounds with a 5-1 win. Standridge allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 6.1 innings. Oregon reliever Mike Cofer picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Chris Standridge absorbed the loss. Justin Brunton picked up the save for Oregon, his 1st of the year.
Tim Vitek had a big hit for Oregon in the top of the seventh inning. With Oregon trailing 1-0, Vitek hit a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Ducks up, 2-1.
"We did a lot of things right," said Vitek.
Oregon occupies 15th place in the Cliff Gustafson at 6-7.
