Pendergrass Pounds 2 Homers in 11-6 Tar Heels Win
|
The North Carolina Tar Heels topped the Iowa State Cyclones, 11-6, with youngster Nick Pendergrass playing a key role. Pendergrass was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Tar Heels in the win. Getting the save was Nate Angelo, his 1st. The win makes North Carolina 7-4.
In the bottom of the seventh, Pendergrass put his team in front with his 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Dave McCarthy, made it 9-6, North Carolina.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Pendergrass said.
