Tigers Lose, 8-4, at Bruisers Ballpark
The North Carolina Tar Heels overcame a good performance by Clemson third baseman Chad Fransen to knock off Clemson, 8-4, at Bruisers Ballpark. Fransen went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. North Carolina reliever Will Paysour picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Ross McCoy shouldered the loss. Matt Rodgers earned the save for North Carolina, his 3rd.

One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning. Facing Clemson hurler Rich Fiala, Philip Cox, who is the 3rd-best prospect in the Tar Heels organization, hit a 2-run single. The Tar Heels went on to win.

"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Cox said (again).

The Tar Heels are now 5-6, while the Tigers fall to 5-6.
