Seminoles Clock Sooners, 17-3
|
The Florida State Seminoles soundly defeated the Oklahoma Sooners, 17-3, at Ballpark of Riverdale College, with designated hitter Anthony Wright a major reason why. He was 4-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and 2 walks. He drove in 8 runs and scored once for Florida State. The win puts the Seminoles at 8-3, while the Sooners drop to 8-3.
In the bottom of the first, Salvatore Reyes delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Florida State third baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Seminoles in front, 17-3.
Said Oklahoma manager Lewis Cannon: "They did a lot of things right. We did a lot of things wrong."
