Moreno Stars for Thoroughbreds in 10-7 Win
The Aiken Thoroughbreds knocked off the Rancho Cucamonga, 10-7, at Steelers Park. Jose Moreno was a big reason Aiken won. The first baseman went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winning pitcher was Hideto Miyamoto. He's now 3-0. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits for the Thoroughbreds. The Cucamonga, 6-13, continue their sluggish start to the 2066 campaign.

Aiken used a clutch at-bat from Roberto Gonzales to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Thoroughbreds ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager David Flecha.
