It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Matt Wilson today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Zodiac Ballpark and paced the Tigers to a 27-0 win over the Michigan Wolverines.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Auburn right fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Matt Wilson singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.

Presently Wilson is batting .417 with 20 hits and 4 home runs. He has knocked in 13 runs and scored 13 times.
