Zion Smith knocked in 5 runs to help Ohio State beat Iowa State, 11-6. The first baseman collected 2 singles, 1 double, and 1 home run. Picking up the save was C.J. Gomez, his 1st. Ohio State, now 6-3, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Smith made an early impact for Ohio State when he stroked his 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the top of the third, put the Buckeyes on top, 3-1.
