Martinsburg Stopped, 6-2, by Surrey
The Surrey Thunderbirds tallied a win at Surrey Field, throttling the Martinsburg Maulers, 6-2. Starting pitcher Aaron Philbrick was a big reason for his team's success. Martinsburg now has a record of 9-9.

Sergio Perez had a big 3-run home run for the Thunderbirds in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Surrey leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a slider from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Jose Acuna and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Thunderbirds on top, 5-1.

Surrey manager Addy de Zeeuw said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
