Tigers Earn 3-2 Win Versus Sycamores
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Pit Vipers Ballpark. But 20-year old first baseman Geoff Edler produced just enough offense to carry the Tigers past the Indiana State Sycamores, 3-2. Edler was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. The winner in relief was Arthur Lail. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. Getting the save was Francisco Marquina, his 3rd.
Cesar Zauala had a direct impact on the outcome. Zauala contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Clemson up, 3-2.
"We busted our tails," said Indiana State manager Luppe Missel. "But we came up short."
Indiana State now is 2-7.
