Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Tigers
Despite a great performance by Iowa State catcher Matt Housner, the Clemson Tigers defeated the Cyclones by the score of 7-5 at Magistrates Ballpark. Housner was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Clemson reliever Brian Yates was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Dan Kerby. The win takes Clemson to 4-4.

One of the stars of the game was Clemson first baseman Nate Phillips. In the bottom of the tenth with one out, he got a fastball from Dan Kerby and hit a walk-off 2-run home run. That made the score 7-5 in favor of the Tigers.

"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Phillips said.
