Owls Rally to Win
|
The Rice Owls picked up a win at Toughkenamon College Fields, knocking off the California Golden Bears, 4-3, in 10 innings. On the mound for Rice was right-hander Craig Dunmire. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. The winner was Rice reliever Terry Kehoe, now 1-0. The loser was Keith Russo. California falls to 2-6.
The Owls got a clutch hit from left fielder Humberto Munoz. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Owls.
"It took some blood and sweat, but we got what we were after," said Owls manager Jeff Hulse.
