Cougars Stay Hot, Beat Ducks, 5-2

The Washington State Cougars topped the Oregon Ducks by a score of 5-2. Leading the way was center fielder Danny McDermid. McDermid went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Cougars. Brad Mesh claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Getting the save was Sam Mikolajczyk, his 4th.
McDermid contributed in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Washington State get the win.
"I thought we competed really well," said Cougars manager Harsha Majoo. "I thought the energy was really good."
Washington State goes to 6-2 with the win.
